Some key moments in Rolf Zavelberg's work history:

1994 Founding of the artist management agency „Aktivraum", and since 1997 very intensive collaboration with Markus Stockhausen, also in the conception and realisation of joint projects
1995 Realisation of first concerts in Cologne and surroundings
1996/97 Realisation of, and lighting design for the concert series „Lebensklänge" in the Luther Church in Cologne; participating musicians: Markus Stockhausen (trumpet, flügelhorn, piccolo trumpet), Prof. Joachim-Ernst Berndt, Christian Bollaman (overtone singing), Michael Reimann (multi-instrumentalist), Aruna Sayeeram (vocals), Willi Grimm (didgeridoo), Gérard Widner (fujara), Michael Heupel (flutes) and others
1996 Organisation of a concert in a newly built pipeline of the municipality of Düsseldorf in collaboration with the city's Ministry of Culture; Musical direction: Christian Bollmann, joint performance with the Obertonchor Düsseldorf.

2000 to present: Concept and realisation of the concert series „ Klangvisionen" with an array of artists from different cultures and genres, connecting music and light , in Cologne's St Maternus Church. Musical direction: Markus Stockhausen. In August 2007 the 100th concert was performed

2002 Concept of a silent space as a permanent installation in the European Academy of Music and Performing Arts Palazzo Ricci in Montepulciano/Tuscany: planning and design. Rolf Zavelberg's designs were also used for the making and installation of the glass entrance door, the spatial seating, lamps and lighting integrated in the architecture and atmospheric spatial concept.
2002 Lighting design for the concert by the „Kristall" ensemble at the festival „Europäische Kirchenmusik Schwäbisch Gmünd"
2003 Light direction for the „fiesta d'amor" at the Tonhalle Düsseldorf, a night time event under the musical direction of Markus Stockhausen with nine musicians from Chili, Italy, Hungary, Holland and Germany

Light accompaniment for the Markus Stockhausen concert in the Römisch-Germanisch Museum in Cologne as part of the Lange Nacht der Kölner Museen
2007Concert lighting in the Institute of Italian Culture in Cologne (Trio Stockhausen, Comisso, Thomé)
2007 Concept and realisation of the public installation Licht-Leiter in the St Maternus Church in Cologne
2007 Joint conception and supervision of the peformance „Abendglühen für Solotompete und Posaunenchöre" (Evening glow for solo trumpet and trombone choir) by Markus Stockhausen, who composed the piece for the Evangelical Church Day in Cologne. Markus Stockhausen played together with 1800 brass players, who were divided into six groups on either side of the Rhine. To bring this project into being 17 tower systems were provided with over 120 speakers which received the corresponding radio signal from more than 100 microphones and seven mixing desks. Tara Bouman coordinated the six groups, who stood on the balcony of the Lufthansa building with Markus Stockhausen. The conductor communicated with them via radio links and specified the beat they were to play in.
